The Sunshine Through Golf Foundation, charitable arm of the Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA), prides itself with the mission of bringing joy to people with special needs through golf. The Foundation's Sunshine Through Golf camp program is the largest grassroots golf program for individuals with special needs in the United States.
100 HOLE PAR 3 GOLF MARATHON
The 6th annual 100-Hole Par-3 Golf Marathon will be held again at Zigfield Troy Golf Course on Saturday, May 17. Last year twenty six event golfers helped the Foundation raise over $70,000!
The Sunshine Through Golf Foundation’s partnership with the First Tee of Greater Chicago has stretched over 10 years now. The staff at the First Tee has done a tremendous job in continuing to teach the game of golf to individuals with special needs through the Chicago Park District at various golf courses in the district. VETERANS OF THE GAME
RevelationGolf isn’t something new. Donna Strum and Kathy Williams started the far-reaching not-for-profit program in September of 2005.
Strum, a clinical, certified therapeutic recreation specialist, has been using golf in her efforts to help individuals with various physical disabilities since 1993. Williams, a former LPGA Tour player and Evans Scholar, is an LPGA Class A teaching professional. (Read More)
